Did you know that about 70% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. That’s over 2/3rds of Americans. That statistic does not sit well with me, so we are here to do something about it.
One of the biggest issues I have with education in America is the lack of tools given to students when it comes to personal finance. The lucky kids grow up with parents who teach them a thing or two about money, but even that leaves holes in the overall education around personal finance. Young adults grow up to have more and more responsibilities around money each year and still are not taught how to manage it. Eventually we move out, graduate college, get a job and still, nobody taught us about money.
Lucky for me, I learned about money through my parents, through educational content found online, through books and podcasts, and I even learned a little bit about money in college when I got my finance degree. But let me tell you. It’s not enough.
I am an educated, white, upper middle class American and I didn’t even learn enough about money growing up. So here I am, doing something about it.
I am here to provide resources and tools so you can learn everything you need to know about money. If you are a student trying to get a handle on things as you start adulthood, this is for you. If you are a parent trying to teach your kids about money, this is for you. If you are a young adult trying to start on the right path, this is for you. If you are recovering from money mistakes, trying to prevent making new ones, or simply planning for your future: THIS IS FOR YOU.
I want you to know that if you feel clueless when it comes to money, you are not alone. It’s really not so hard to be a badass with your money decisions. You can screw up and still make it out okay. The key is to have a willingness to learn and to think about not just your current self but your future self. There is no one right way to manage your money, so come in with an open mind, learn everything you can, and make decisions that are right for you.
Being here, providing education, coaching clients, it’s all my way of making an impact. I like to imagine how the world would be different if less people had money stresses. I know it would look so much brighter. I am here to help make that change because I see a world where:
- More people can be present in their relationships, with their spouses and children. Without the financial burdens taking up their mental bandwidth, how better could our relationships be?
- More people can give without second thought, focus on making the world a better place without worrying about financial losses.
- More people can focus on their passions in work and in life. Where we don’t work just for a paycheck but because it fulfills us.
- More people can make decisions that better their futures and bring joy to their presents and can let go of worry and stress.
It might be a lot to ask for, but every time I meet with a client, I see this world getting a little bit closer.
Thank you for joining me in this journey and I do hope you learn money with me.
